Description

FAQs

Where can I find DCMA invoices?

DCMA invoices appear on BCDR/Networking bills and are grouped by the client that was assigned to the Cloud SIRIS at the time of registration.

What is a DCMA subscription?

A DCMA subscription represents one Cloud SIRIS that is protecting VMs within one Azure region, within a given Azure subscription, within a given Azure tenant.

All virtual machines protected on the Cloud SIRIS share commitment and retention terms and are therefore subject to the same discounts and premiums (i.e. 1-year commitment, 1-year Time Based Retention).

Cloud SIRIS’ are currently limited to 7 virtual machines and 6 TB of managed disk capacity. There are no limits to the number of Cloud SIRIS’ which may be created for a given client.

How is DCMA billed?

DCMA bills on a per-VM basis based on the managed disk capacity attached to the protected virtual machine. For example:

  • if a virtual machine has 300 GB of managed disk capacity, it will be billed at the 0-512 GB rate.
  • If a virtual machine has 700 GB of managed disk capacity, it will be billed at the 512-1024 rate.

Billing for DCMA is prorated in arrears and billed in advance, similarly to ALTO, S4X1/2, and SaaS Protection. For example:

  • You create a Cloud SIRIS on January 15 with one protected system. Your February bill will show a charge for this protected system for the last 16 days of January and the month of February.
  • Extending the above example, you add one new protected system to the same Cloud SIRIS on January 25. Your February bill for this subscription will also include a separate prorated charge for this protected system for the last six days of January and full billing for the month of February.

When does billing start after I make a purchase?

Billing starts on the day that you accept a DCMA quote or the day you set up a new Cloud SIRIS, whichever is earlier.

What happens if I add or remove protected VMs from my Cloud SIRIS?

  • Adding protected systems: billing will be prorated in arrears effective the day you added protection for the VM and billed in advance for the following month.
  • Removing protected systems: billing will cease in the following month. No credit will be issued for the balance of the month when the service was not active.

What happens if I add or remove managed disk capacity from a protected system?

If the change to managed disk capacity on the protected system causes the managed disk capacity value to cross one of the establishing billing thresholds, your billed balance will automatically adjust in response to that change. If the change does not cross a billing threshold, your billed balance will not change.

Does removing one or all protected systems from a Cloud SIRIS cancel my subscription?

No. you must follow Datto’s self-serve cancellation process to cancel your subscription. Upon cancellation approval, your Cloud SIRIS and its accompanying data will be rendered inaccessible 30 days after the date of cancellation, and all data will be deleted thereafter in accordance with Datto’s existing policies.

Please note that if you remove all protected systems from a Cloud SIRIS without cancelling the subscription, you will be billed for the equivalent of one (1) small VM.

Am I permitted to transfer a Cloud SIRIS to a different reseller?

Transfers between MSPs are not supported at this time. Contact the Datto Support Team if you have questions about this policy.

Am I permitted to move a Cloud SIRIS from one client to another if a given client no longer requires the Cloud SIRIS?

Cloud SIRIS moves between clients are not supported at this time. Please follow the self-serve cancellation process to cancel the existing Cloud SIRIS and create a different one for the new client.
